Bahraini dies from inhaling toxic gas fired by regime forces<\/strong>

Another Bahraini citizen has lost his life after inhaling toxic tear gas fired by the Saudi-backed regime forces on protesters, Press TV reports.<\/p>\n

Fresh protests have erupted against the Saudi-backed Al Khalifa dynasty in Bahrain after the demonstrators blocked roads and set tires on fire in Sar, near the capital, Manama.<\/p>\n

The protesters condemned the imprisonment of the rights activist Abdul Hadi Khawaja and demanded the immediate release of the top campaigner.<\/p>\n

Khawaja, the co-founder and former president of the Bahrain Center for Human Right, was sentenced to life in prison by a military court last year. He is currently on a hunger strike to protest against his detention and Al Khalifa regime\u2019s brutal crackdown on protests.<\/p>\n

The protest dubbed the \u201ccry of conscience\u201d was organized by the February 14th Youth Coalition.<\/p>\n

Despite the ongoing crackdown, anti-regime protests continue in the Persian Gulf kingdom and there is no sign of the ruling Al Khalifa dynasty\u2019s inclination to step down.<\/p>\n

Bahrain has been witnessing a wave of anti-regime protests since February 2011.<\/p>\n

Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds more arrested or fired from their jobs since the beginning of the popular uprising in Bahrain in February 2011.<\/p>\n

On January 26, Amnesty International called on Bahraini authorities to \u201cinvestigate and account for the reports of more than a dozen deaths following tear gas use.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amnesty also called on the US government to \u201csuspend transfers of tear gas and other riot control equipment to the Bahraini authorities.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a 94-page report issued on February 28, Human Rights Watch (HRW) criticized the Bahraini regime\u2019s trial of anti-government demonstrators, protest leaders, and the medical doctors, who treated the injuries caused in government crackdown on the protesters.<\/p>\n

The HRW also called on Bahrain\u2019s Saudi-backed Al Khalifa regime to release detained protesters. …more<\/a><\/p>\n
