\nsunrise silent sheen
\nmoves upon the open shore
\ndeath’s deliverance
\nunfathomable reach
\nabove and below
\never widening swath
\nfruit of our greed.<\/p>\n
estuaries stolen in the twilight
\nlife’s birth place soon long forgotten
\nlost on a consumptive binge
\nlife’s negation
\nunbridled wealth. <\/p>\n
creatures of life’s origin
\nchoke on shame we do not feel
\nour labor lost
\na simple consequence
\ntraded on un-reckoned tragedy
\nfeast upon it’s gifts.<\/p>\n
salvation’s new estuary
\ngives birth in the depths
\nbeneath the ocean floor
\nhand that feeds the mouth
\nkills our spirit with the new tide
\nhigh-tide of empire’s state. <\/p>\n
currency all around
\ntoday we drink
\nwe will live life’s desperation
\nno harm intended
\nrejoice in the pennies
\na salute to our decline
\ncelebrate our lost soul.<\/p>\n
today we weep
\nlament the generations lost
\nonce life giving sanctuary
