{"id":4137,"date":"2011-12-06T14:02:08","date_gmt":"2011-12-06T21:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=4137"},"modified":"2011-12-06T14:02:08","modified_gmt":"2011-12-06T21:02:08","slug":"us-stealth-uav-shot-down-following-mysterious-explosions-that-damage-iraniain-nuclear-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=4137","title":{"rendered":"US stealth UAV shot-down following mysterious explosions that damage Iraniain Nuclear Sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Iran Shoots down another US Spy Drone over its airspace<\/strong><br \/>\nDecember 5, 2011 &#8211; Jafria News<\/p>\n<p>JNN 04 Dec 2011 Tehran: Iran\u2019s military has shot down a US reconnaissance drone aircraft in eastern Iran and has threatened to respond to the violation of Iranian airspace, a military source told state television on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran\u2019s military has downed an intruding RQ-170 American drone in eastern Iran,\u201d Iran\u2019s Arabic-language Al Alam state television network quoted the unnamed source as saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe spy drone, which has been downed with little damage, was seized by the Iranian armed forces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iran shot down the drone at a time when it is trying to contain foreign reaction to the storming of the British embassy in Tehran on Tuesday, shortly after London announced that it would impose sanctions on Iran\u2019s central bank in connection with Iran\u2019s controversial nuclear enrichment programme.<\/p>\n<p>Britain evacuated its diplomatic staff from Iran and expelled Iranian diplomats in London in retaliation, and several other EU members recalled their ambassadors from Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>The attack dragged Iran\u2019s relations with Europe to a long-time low.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Iranian military\u2019s response to the American spy drone\u2019s violation of our airspace will not be limited to Iran\u2019s borders,\u201d the military source said, without elaborating.<\/p>\n<p>The United States and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran\u2019s nuclear facilities if diplomacy fails to resolve the nuclear dispute.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has dismissed reports of possible US or Israeli plans to strike Iran, warning that it would respond to any such assault by attacking US interests in the Gulf and Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts say Tehran could retaliate by launching hit-and-run strikes in the Gulf and by closing the Strait of Hormuz.
