Last Summer, Zainab in her Courage and Defiance was in court when her father, Abdulhadi al-Khawaja, one of the country’s leading rights activists shouted, “The struggle will continue” as the court read out his life sentence for his leadership role in earlier protests. After he was beaten and forcefully removed from the court, Zainib stood up and chanted, ‘Allahu akbar’, God is great. She too was forcefully removed from the court and arrested. She was charged with contempt of court and was made to sign a pledge not to speak in court again before she was released.”<\/p>\n
