{"id":3648,"date":"2011-10-22T21:22:00","date_gmt":"2011-10-23T04:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=3648"},"modified":"2011-10-22T21:22:00","modified_gmt":"2011-10-23T04:22:00","slug":"regime-forces-attack-arrest-bahrainis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=3648","title":{"rendered":"Regime forces attack, arrest Bahrainis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Regime forces attack, arrest Bahrainis<\/strong><br \/>\n22 October, 2011 &#8211; Shia Post<\/p>\n<p>Bahraini regime forces have attacked and arrested several peaceful anti-regime demonstrators in a number of villages on the island of Sitra, Press TV has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Activists said that some eight people were detained and many more were injured after protesters took to the street across Bahrain as part of the so-called \u201cArrows of Dignity\u201d event on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Arrows of Dignity has been organized by activists to show solidarity with an unknown number of female prisoners behind bars in the Persian Gulf sheikdom.<\/p>\n<p>Regime forces surrounded several towns in an attempt to block the event from spreading.<\/p>\n<p>Since mid-February, thousands of anti-government protesters have been staging regular demonstrations on the streets of Bahrain, calling on the US-backed Al Khalifa family to relinquish power.<\/p>\n<p>On March 14, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates invaded the country to assist Bahraini rulers in their brutal crackdown on peaceful anti-government protesters.<\/p>\n<p>Scores of people have been killed and hundreds more have been arrested in a brutal Manama-ordered and Riyadh-backed crackdown in the country, which hosts a huge American military installation for the US Navy\u2019s Fifth Fleet in the Persian Gulf.  <a href=\"http:\/\/shiapost.com\/?p=7187\">&#8230;source<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"igit_tsb_button\" style=\"float: left; margin-right: 10px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.crookedbough.com%2F%3Fp%3D3648&amp;text=Regime+forces+attack%2C+arrest+Bahrainis&amp;count=horizontal&amp;via=\" style=\"\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regime forces attack, arrest Bahrainis 22 October, 2011 &#8211; Shia Post Bahraini regime forces have attacked and arrested several peaceful anti-regime demonstrators in a number of villages on the island of Sitra, Press TV has learned.
