{"id":3431,"date":"2011-10-07T18:34:25","date_gmt":"2011-10-08T01:34:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=3431"},"modified":"2011-10-07T18:34:25","modified_gmt":"2011-10-08T01:34:25","slug":"waad-goes-on-hunger-strike-in-solidarity-with-secretary-general-and-al-grain-detainees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=3431","title":{"rendered":"Waad Goes on Hunger Strike in Solidarity with Secretary General and Al-Grain Detainees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Waad Goes on Hunger Strike in Solidarity with Secretary General and Al-Grain Detainees<\/strong><br \/>\nby \u062c\u0645\u0639\u064a\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0639\u0645\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0637\u0646\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062f\u064a\u0645\u0642\u0631\u0627\u0637\u064a &#8211; \u0648\u0639\u062f on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:57am<\/p>\n<p>National Democratic Action Society \u201cWaad\u201d is organizing a hunger strike in solidarity with its Secretary General Mr. Ebrahim Sharif and his fellow detainees in Al-Grain military prison, who have been on hunger strike for 10 days, protesting against the arrest of women.<\/p>\n<p>The strike will take place at Waad\u2019s headquarters in Um Al Hassam on Saturday, 9 October 2011, from 9AM-10PM.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Grain\u2019s prison administration had refused to provide medical care to Sharif and the political prisoners on hunger strike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision to go on strike has been taken by the Central Committee in support with our Secretary General and other detained political leaders\u201d, said Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs, Mr. Radhi Al-Musawi.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cWe had expressed our concern regarding the information received from detainees, stating that the prison administration decided to stop providing medical care to them because of their hunger strike, violating all related international standers.
