Saudi-backed forces attack Bahrainis

Saudi-backed government forces have launched an attack on a village in northeastern Bahrain where the people had staged an anti-regime protest.<\/p>\n
On Monday, the protesters, who had taken to the streets of Nuwaidrat, called for the implementation of reforms and demanded that Bahrain\u2019s King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa step down, a Press TV correspondent reported.<\/p>\n
Bahrainis have been holding peaceful demonstrations across the Persian Gulf kingdom since mid-February, calling for an end to the absolute monarchy of the Al Khalifa family.<\/p>\n
But the authorities have been brutally suppressing all opposition.<\/p>\n
On March 14, troops and police forces from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates invaded the country to assist the Bahraini government\u2019s crackdown.<\/p>\n
Dozens of people have been killed so far and many more wounded in the Saudi-backed attacks on demonstrators.<\/p>\n
Hundreds, including doctors, nurses, teachers, and students, have also been abducted.<\/p>\n
And many doctors and nurses have been tried in military courts on charges of helping anti-regime protesters. …more<\/a><\/p>\n
