\nhistory owns unresolve
\nto be free<\/p>\n

change of masters
\nneo-liberal slave state
\ncall it democracy
\nwithout western furnishing
\nlost in western desire
\nchained to Islam’s divide
\nshadows over liberty<\/p>\n

kingdoms appointment
\ndestiny’s agent of deception
\nbleak hour<\/p>\n

redemption calls
\nunheard cries for freedom
\nmastered by unbridled greed
\ngreat petrol economies
\nviolent illusion of power
\ncrushes you<\/p>\n

the streets weep
\nthe mosques mourn
\npatterns of protest
\nagain and again
\nanimals pacing the cage<\/p>\n

will to rise up
\ndash the illusion
\ndispossess the souls<\/p>\n

desperation’s hour
\nchild born
\nfather chained
\nbrother felled
\nsister weeps
\nmother’s hearts break<\/p>\n

ruled become unruled
\nkingdoms gone
\ntruth retold<\/p>\n

revolution’s hour
\nremains between
\nsymbol and reality
\nmeasured over and again
\npaces of the cage
\ncalled oppression
\nshouting to be heard
\nremains chained
\nby another truth<\/p>\n
