{"id":15440,"date":"2013-01-08T13:47:06","date_gmt":"2013-01-08T20:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=15440"},"modified":"2013-01-08T13:47:06","modified_gmt":"2013-01-08T20:47:06","slug":"teen-murder-unjust-imprisonment-of-politicals-brings-saudis-to-the-streets-in-protest-calls-for-end-of-regime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=15440","title":{"rendered":"Teen Murder, Unjust Imprisonment of Politicals brings Saudis to the Streets in Protest, calls for end of Regime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Families of prisoners protest in Saudi Arabia<\/strong><br \/>\n8 January, 2013 &#8211; Shia Post<\/p>\n<p>The families and relatives of prisoners in Saudi Arabia have protested outside a government building in Eastern Province, Press TV reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Saturday rally is taking place outside the governor\u2019s office in the city of al-Dammam in Eastern Province.<\/p>\n<p>Reports say regime forces deployed in the area have prevented protesters from storming the building.<\/p>\n<p>Anti-regime protests have escalated in Saudi Arabia since a teenage protester was shot dead by the regime forces during a demonstration to demand the release of political prisoners last week.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s oil-rich Eastern Province has been the scene of anti-regime protests since February 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi protesters have held demonstrations on an almost regular basis mainly in the Qatif region and the town of Awamiyah in Eastern Province.
