{"id":12123,"date":"2012-08-28T09:49:16","date_gmt":"2012-08-28T16:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=12123"},"modified":"2012-08-28T09:49:16","modified_gmt":"2012-08-28T16:49:16","slug":"bahrain-interior-ministry-yates-work-in-bahrain-has-been-a-great-success-our-police-station-in-sitra-is-ablaze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crookedbough.com\/?p=12123","title":{"rendered":"Bahrain Interior Ministry, &#8220;Yates work in Bahrain has been a great success, our police station in Sitra is ablaze&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bahrain denies resignation of senior police adviser<\/strong><br \/>\n26 August, 2012<\/p>\n<p>MANAMA \u2014 Bahrain has denied reports regarding resignation of senior police adviser John Yates who was hired last year as part of reform initiatives undertaken for Bahrain\u2019s police.<\/p>\n<p>Yates is the former assistant commissioner with the London Metropolitan Police Service and his expertise was sought as part of the recommendations of the Bahrain International Commission of Inquiry to teach police forces more about human rights practices.<\/p>\n<p>The Interior Ministry highlighted in a statement on Friday that recent reports concerning the resignation of John Yates are incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry said that Yates\u2019 initial six-month contract concluded on July 20 of this year. However, he remains as an important adviser to the Minister of Interior, overseeing police code of conduct and implementation of reform measures.
